Life at Orange

AI is moving at a ridiculous speed. The kind of speed where ‘interesting’ turns into ‘indispensable’ before you’ve even finished your coffee. And at Orange, we’re not watching that shift from the sidelines.  

On 25 May, the heart of Brussels beat a little faster. And so did the hearts of almost 100 Orange Belgium colleagues. Like previous years, we were a bunch lining up for the iconic (and again sold-out) 46th edition of the Brussels 20 km.

In this ever-evolving telecom world, we want to be a constant source of inspiration for tomorrow’s tech experts. Therefore, Orange Belgium welcomed 30 first-year master’s students in Electrical Engineering from the École polytechnique de Bruxelles (EPB) for a one-day visit to discover their future key role in tech.

What if working out with your colleagues could help fund education for young people in need? For ten days, Orange made this possible with the group-wide All Connected Challenge, encouraging the people of Orange to get active for a good cause. 

Shaping the future is anyone's business. Yet, women are still underrepresented in technological and scientific professions that shape this future. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) will enable us to invent and shape the world of tomorrow. From digital revolutions to energy transitions, the major transformations of our time cannot be achieved without women. 

On February 9^th, Orange Belgium brought together innovative AI start-ups and tech experts for the Open Innovation Night at The Standard in Brussels, crowning six AI innovators in the 8^th Orange Fab edition. One thing was clear: open innovation isn’t just a buzzword; it's how we at Orange are building the telecoms network of tomorrow.

Every big dream needs a bold start. That’s why Orange Group designed a three-year international trainee and young professional program for recent graduates who are ready to accelerate their careers and take on responsibility.

The festive season is the perfect time to connect — with loved ones and with colleagues. That’s why, on 18 December, we hosted a cosy radio show packed with great music and fun surprises. Flemish host Dorien Leyers and her Walloon colleague David Antoine joined us at our HQ to create warm vibes during the Orange Radio broadcast. And our colleagues? They naturally added plenty of atmosphere and good cheer. 

Feeling good, having energy and staying sharp in both body and mind: it’s just as important as reaching your goals. Because when you feel great, you can grow to your full potential. That’s what we focus on at Orange Belgium. Not just once a year, but every day. And in October, that focus takes center stage during our annual Wellbeing Week: full of workshops, inspiration, and… our colleagues themselves.

Every summer, Orange Belgium opens its doors to a new generation of curious minds. In July, a group of ambitious tech students traded their flip-flops for laptops and swapped chilling for learning. They got a taste of what working in tech is really like, and what kind of future they could shape. 

This spring, close to 100 students from EPB (ULB/VUB), HEPL and UMONS left the classroom and stepped into the telecom world at Orange Belgium over the course of three separate visits.

On Sunday 25 May, the streets of Brussels filled with over 45,000 runners and walkers for the 45th edition (and sold-out!) Brussels 20 km. Just like last year, we showed up strong! Dozens of colleagues, one team, and a sea of orange shirts.
