Happy New Year!
This New Year, our customers once again massively chose our telecom network for sending their best wishes or sharing festive moments with friends and relatives.
Mobile internet remains the preferred means of communication for New Year´s Eve, with an increase of 26% over last year. No fewer than 318.5 TB were used to communicate greetings and wishes in the form of photos, videos or video calls. And the stars of the social networks are Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Our customers sent fewer text messages, exchanging 5.4 million of them, a decline of 3.8% compared to 2022. It is the calls that have grown increasingly popular, because Belgians prefer to call their friends and relatives to wish them a Happy New Year “live”. 5.1 million calls were made during New Year´s Eve, a rise of 57%.
Thanks to the excellent work of our employees who monitor our network, our customers could enjoy optimal connectivity during their end-of-year parties. And one thing´s for sure: they´ll have it again in 2023!

Network traffic results, measured from 31/12/2022 at 8 p.m. to 01/01/2023 at 8 a.m.
