This was Orange Data Day 2024
8 April 2024
March 11, the second edition of Orange Data Day, powered by Google took place. An inspiring event fully dedicated to data and AI, indispensable tools to make our daily operations more efficient and to further improve our service. Discover the key insights from this fascinating day.
Experts’ perspectives
We kicked off the day with a plenary session in the company restaurant bistrO. After an introduction by Christophe Dujardin, Chief Consumer Business Officer, interesting panel discussions followed with experts from Orange Belgium, Google, and the Orange Group on the following themes:
Network leadership
Customer Experience Excellence (with a focus on the Ccontact Ccenter)
We care for people:
CO2 footprint / reduction of energy consumption
Collaboration with BeCode, a special school for developers
During the panel discussions, the experts delved deeper into how AI and data are changing the way we work across all departments, why they are essential for our 'Lead the Future' strategy, and how they help us to become even more customer-focused.
After that, the Director of Data Factory and Head of Data Science & Analytics gave us clear insights into the next steps that Orange Belgium and VOO are taking towards Google Cloud. The objective? To establish together a customer-centric data system that forms the backbone of our future service.
To wrap up the plenary session in style, a special guest was invited: Chris O’Loughlin, Sports Director at football club Union St Gilloise. He shared how the club, sponsored by hey!, uses data to find and recruit the best players.
Data and AI in practice
Moving from theory to application, our Data Team opened the figurative 'black box' of data and AI with 6 concrete examples of how these tools significantly advance Orange's day-to-day operations. Because thanks to data and AI, we can not only offer the best network experience and top-notch customer service but also tailor products to meet the precise needs of our customers. A new player in the market? Thanks to our knowledge of digital technologies, we know exactly how to respond. We live in a VUCA world (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) and data and AI are an indispensable guide.
What we remember
Data and AI offer numerous possibilities for all departments, allowing us to work more efficiently. The result? Smarter networks, ultra-personalized consumer journeys, quick responses to incidents, and the ability to predict customer behavior.
For everyone at Orange Belgium, from the young tech enthusiast to the seasoned professional, the event was a source of inspiration. With a healthy dose of curiosity, we are already looking forward to Orange Data Day 2025! #ProudToBeOrange
